Conditions not ideal the first few days of the holiday – the sea was too rough to get get out. Even when it calmed a little the focus was on on diving safely rather than photography.

So here’s a few shots of coral to get you going….

and then the money shots. Sharks, yes sharks. These aren’t great shots, we had three pairs around us on one dive ….

Hard to see but we had four in a school swim past. Remarkable.

OK, so we really are lazy and don’t venture far off the resort when we go to the Caribbean, but we did manage a short trip to the capital, St Johns.

As we drove in the taxi driver told us the cruise ships were in. How little idea did we have just how they dominated the place.

However, in addition to the main posh shop drag…

…there was an adjacent and very pleasant Heritage Quay, that just didn’t seem to attract the cruise ship clientele

as well as a few interesting back streets

So a few foodie pictures from the on site Italian Restaurant, Picolo Mondo.

A major should have gone to specsavers moment as David orders a Beef Carpaccio starter only to get some beetroot concoction. Even the chef who came out later thought it was funny, and not the first.

So, too much sun and needing a trip off resort. A bit of history then. 30 minute taxi ride to Falmouth and Nelsons Dockyard.

So here we are, lucky enough to be at the St James Club, Antigua for a second time.

Lucky also to be Virgin Holidays Frequent, and getting upgraded to a Reef Suite with this stunning balcony view straight on to the Ocean.
